General Questions

3B İskele scope, regions and the quote process.

What services does 3B İskele provide?

3B İskele Kalıp A.Ş. supplies scaffolding and formwork, rental, buy-back, structural engineering, site erection/dismantling and facade cladding under one roof. H-frame guarded facade scaffolding, ringlock and cuplock industrial systems, mobile towers, table formwork, props and column-wall formwork are planned per project.

Which cities and countries do you supply?

Head office is in Izmir Torbalı. Factory and warehouse are in Istanbul Tuzla, with an extra warehouse in Kosovo. We ship across Turkey, with fast stock-out especially in the Aegean, Marmara and nearby provinces. Overseas and Balkan projects are planned case by case via info@3biskele.com.

What do you need for a quote?

Building or unit height, facade/span quantities, work type (insulation, stone, maintenance, shoring), estimated duration and site photos are enough. A survey firms up quantities and cuts surprise extras. You can send a brief via the quote page or WhatsApp.

Is the survey free?

Desktop review and photo survey are free on most projects. Site visits, remote sites and permitted energy/refinery entries are scoped in the quote. The aim is a list that fits the site, not a round number.

How can I contact 3B İskele?

Phone: +90 532 396 75 35. Email: info@3biskele.com. Address: Yeşilköy mah. Kuyuçukuru Sk. No:2 Torbalı/Izmir. The contact page also lists Izmir, Istanbul factory, Istanbul warehouse and Kosovo locations.

Facade Scaffolding

H-frame guarded systems, insulation and housing-residence facades.

How is facade scaffolding chosen?

Height, facade geometry, wind, ground, work item and duration are read together. On straight housing and office facades H-frame guarded systems lead. Balconies, projections and tight plots change cantilever and platform width. On industrial geometry ringlock is more correct.

What is H-frame guarded facade scaffolding?

A modular facade system that treats platforms, guardrails, stair towers and braces as one. It gives both speed and fall protection on insulation, plaster, paint, stone and composite cladding. Prefer systems documented under TS EN 12810.

Is insulation scaffolding the same as facade scaffolding?

On most housing jobs they run on the same tower. The difference is not the name — it is platform width, anchor spacing, nets/sheeting and load class. Stone and glass cladding grow load and storage; a painter’s scaffold may be too light.

Which scaffolding is used on high-rise residences?

H-frame guarded facade scaffolding is usually the backbone. Wind, anchors, stair towers and evacuation come first. On narrow facades and finishing, a mast climber or suspended cradle may complement. The survey decides.

Why do anchors matter on facade scaffolding?

Anchors are the spine that ties the scaffold to the building. Too few anchors let the tower move in wind. Unplanned anchors leave expensive marks in insulation and stone. The anchor plan must be drawn with the insulation detail.

Industrial and Energy Scaffolding

Ringlock systems, plant maintenance, power stations and refinery shutdowns.

What is the difference between ringlock and H-frame?

H-frame is for climbing straight facades fast. Ringlock connects in many directions from the rosette; it carries high load and flexibility on boilers, silos, pipe racks and asymmetric steel. On plant maintenance and energy work ringlock is the backbone.

Cuplock or ringlock?

Cuplock is faster on regular grids, slabs and shoring. Ringlock is freer on complex geometry, cantilevers and circular equipment. Many large turnarounds use both; the decision follows geometry, not stock.

Can scaffolding be erected in a live factory?

Yes — but hot-work permits, gas testing, escape routes, forklift aisles and fire lines are part of the job. In industry scaffolding is not a construction extra; it is part of the plant risk plan. Do not dump material on a night shift without a survey.

Which scaffolding is used in power plants and refineries?

Boilers, stacks, turbine halls and pipe racks usually take industrial ringlock. Admin buildings and camp facades are planned separately with H-frame. In a refinery, permit to work, ATEX and spark discipline also bind the erection.

When should shutdown scaffolding be erected?

Critical towers are prepared before the shutdown, as far as operations allow. On day one only the last platforms, guardrails and permitted work should remain. Leaving scaffolding to the first shutdown day delays maintenance from the start.

Rental, Purchase and Price

Rental model, buy-back, quantities and quote items.

Is rental or purchase more advantageous?

On one-off or 3–8 month sites rental is usually cheaper; storage, upkeep and wastage stay with the lessor. Contractors with continuous work can buy a core stock and rent the peak. Buy-back shares leftover stock risk at project end.

How is scaffolding rental priced?

A daily or monthly unit price alone does not decide. Erection/dismantling labour, haulage, stair towers, anchors, nets, wastage and duration extensions make the total. Cheap daily hire can get expensive with missing quantities and idle days.

How are quantities taken off?

Multiplying facade metres is not enough. Corners, cantilevers, stair towers, door/crane openings and a safety allowance are listed separately. On infrastructure, prop spacing, table count and span calc are required. A surveyed list is always cheaper than a round figure.

What if the rental period is extended?

If facade or formwork work slips, the scaffold stays on site. Extra-day unit rates must be written in the quote. Locking the programme to structure, insulation and dismantling stops hire inflation.

What is buy-back?

Purchased material is taken back at an agreed price at project end. It is a balanced model for firms that want stock without locking capital or filling a warehouse when the job ends.

Safety and Standards

TS EN 12810 / 12811, HSE and site checks.

What are TS EN 12810 and TS EN 12811?

TS EN 12810 frames performance and design of facade scaffolding systems; TS EN 12811 describes the general safety approach for temporary works equipment. 3B İskele systems are supplied and applied to these standards.

Are guardrails and stairs mandatory?

If there is a platform, there is a guardrail. If there is access, there is a stair or a safe passage. On guarded H-frame systems the guardrail is not a finishing extra — it is part of every lift.

What is checked on daily site inspections?

Loose pins, missing guardrails, shifted platforms, removed anchors, torn nets, settled ground and stair towers. Checks after rain and wind are mandatory.

Are nets and sheeting always required?

Nets are needed on most urban sites for falling material and dust. Sheeting grows the wind area; if it is tensioned for advertising without calc, the tower becomes a sail.

Does a harness replace scaffolding?

No. A harness is also used on a guarded platform, but it does not legitimise an unguarded edge. Double guardrail, toeboard and stair tower are the minimum language.

Erection, Formwork and Logistics

Erection/dismantling, shoring systems and shipping.

Do you provide erection and dismantling?

Yes. Certified crews erect and dismantle ringlock and H-frame systems. Permit culture on energy/plant jobs and pedestrian/neighbour protection on housing jobs are part of the erection plan.

Which system is used on bridges and viaducts?

Table formwork speeds repeating decks. Props are flexible on small and varying levels. Cuplock or ringlock towers give stiffness on high legs and heavy loads.

What is the most common shoring mistake?

Opening prop spacing by eye, leaving out braces, stripping early and stacking load at a point during the pour. Strip decisions follow concrete strength, not the calendar.

Where are mobile towers used?

Rolling mobile towers are fast for indoor paint, plaster, MEP, malls and maintenance. Compact models are chosen under low ceilings. Facade and high-rise work is not solved with a mobile tower.

How fast does material reach site?

If stock is ready, shipping on the Aegean and Marmara corridor is fast. A missing part can idle a shutdown or a facade crew for a day. Istanbul and Izmir warehouses cover urgent jobs.
